Vestigellery Return Policy
1. General Provisions
Vestigellery works with two categories of items:
— Vestigellery created and reimagined pieces (author works, upcycled and artistically transformed items);
— Curated antique and vintage items, sourced from antique markets and professional dealers.
Each item is carefully selected, described and photographed. By placing an order on our website, you agree to the terms of this Return Policy.
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any mandatory consumer rights under applicable European Union and Portuguese law.

2. Vestigellery Created and Reimagined Pieces (Author, Upcycled)
Each Vestigellery created piece is handcrafted and often produced as a one-of-a-kind item or in a very limited edition, involving artistic intervention.
Returns and Exchanges
Returns and exchanges are not accepted for Vestigellery created and reimagined pieces, except where mandatory consumer rights apply under EU and Portuguese law.
In accordance with Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU, the right of withdrawal does not apply to items that are made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalized.
An exception may be made only in the case of a manufacturing defect that is not related to the nature of handcrafted or artistically transformed work.
Please note
Traces of handwork, patina, asymmetry, variations in materials, and signs resulting from artistic processes are integral to the concept of Vestigellery pieces and do not constitute defects.
This does not affect your statutory rights regarding defective or non-conforming goods under Directive (EU) 2019/771.

3. Curated Antique and Vintage Items
Antique and vintage items are sold in their authentic condition, reflecting their age, history, and original materials.
Right of Withdrawal
Consumers in the European Union have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 calendar days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason, in accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU.
To exercise this right, the item must be unused, unaltered, and returned in its original condition.
Return Shipping
Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping, as permitted under applicable EU consumer protection law, provided this information has been communicated prior to purchase.
Not considered valid reasons for return
The following are not considered defects and do not constitute grounds for return:
— natural signs of age, wear, patina, or minor chips;
— characteristics of historic materials, traditional techniques, or aging processes;
— variations in color or appearance caused by lighting conditions or screen settings.

4. Custom Orders and Modifications
Items created or modified at the customer’s individual request — including changes in length, fittings, composition, materials, or element combinations — are considered personalized.
Such items are non-returnable and non-exchangeable, in accordance with Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU.

5. Return Procedure
To initiate a return, please follow these steps:
1. Contact us at info@vestigellery.com
2. Provide your order number and the reason for return
3. Wait for confirmation and return instructions before shipping the item
Returns sent without prior approval will not be accepted.

6. Refunds
Once the returned item has been received and inspected:
— refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days;
— original shipping costs are non-refundable.
